Today we went to Mrs. Misek's classroom to look at their state posters that they created. They did an awesome job! Look at the pictures below to see what they did. We hope to go back and visit sometime soon!

ISAT Tests
Testing week is in the horizon. This year we will be testing on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for the next two weeks. I always like to give the students a snack during ISAT testing. If you would like to send in a healthy snack for the class, that would be great. Please send a note or an email letting me know. Thank you on advance!
Using IPADS
This afternoon for math class we used our iPads. The students love using them to practice for math. Today they did some practice ISAT questions. We are lucky to be able to use them a few times a week- once for math and once for reading.
We have a baby frog!
This morning when we came back to school we noticed one of our tadpoles has all of its legs! We still have seven others that are much larger. I'm sure soon we will have many "froglets".
We are creating a Voki!
There is a lot of excitement in our room right now. Today, I introduced the students to Vokis. A Voki is an avatar that you can create. The students will be able to create their own and then type in whatever they want the Voki to say. Our first assignment will be for their Voki to tell everyone what steps are needed to write an great extended response for our ISAT questions. Be sure to check back later this week to see what each one of the student's has done!

Crater Lake
This morning in our reading class, we learned about Crater Lake in Oregon. It is absolutely beautiful. Our assignment was to become a detective and read a short two page story in our Sleuth books. I have to say that they two pages just weren't enough. We then went online and looked at the website for Crater Lake. Just when we were ready to finish up with that, Mrs. Sisler walked in. She had actually been to Crater Lake so she was able to share some information about her trip with us. I love to see the students get involved with what we are learning! Today they did just that!
